Intermediate Classes
Aim
To build on the relationship developed between dog and owner from the formative training classes. Improve on your basic skills and obedience, in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Who is This Class For
For dogs and owners who have completed basic beginners skills and want to continue on to improve their skills, or for dogs and owners who have only previously trained in a hall environment and want to do more training outside.
The Course
Lessons are pay as you go and after 6-8 lessons you and your dog should be able to complete the following exercises:
Focus on the owner for 2 minutes, around heavy distraction
Complete both “down” and “sit” stays with owner’s back turned away from the dog
Complete 1 minute of good, focused heelwork around distractions
Complete a recall with a finish
Retrieve a toy/dummy
Lie down and sit at a distance
Test - Intermediate dogs
You then have the oportunity to take an Intermediate test and on completion get a certificate and rosett. Click here to see what you will be tested on.
Class Format
Each class will run, outside, for 1 hour, to include a discussion/feedback session at the end.
We will have a Max of 6 dogs in each class (8 if there are 2 trainers). This ensures that each dog and owner can have some individual attention.
Course Fees
Each pay as you go lesson is charged at £5.
